my brain has a built-in defense mechanism against seeing scary things in media because of the internet
whenever anything scary happen, like a jumpscare or a foreboding noise from off-screen, my brain automatically starts playing “Spooky Scary Skeletons” as if it’s somewhere in the background of the scene in question, barely audible in the distance. that quickly defuses the fear and usually leaves me with a stupid smirk on my face
