Nemertea is a phylum of invertebrate animals also known as “ribbon worms” or “proboscis worms”.

What it “spit up” is its probiscis, which is meant to capture small prey like snails, and act like a net to pull them back into its mouth to eat. Unfortunately they fall apart very easily outside of water - this worm usually stays together with the help of water pressure, so without that the probiscis just fell out.
