This comic is one of the most experimental pieces that I have come across since starting this project. Liz greets Jon in passing, who is working on a sudoku puzzle. She inquires about the puzzle, and Jon states that he has been working on it all day. Liz then replies that she had finished her sudoku puzzle during breakfast and walks away. It is at this point for seemingly no reason at all that Jon’s physical form shrinks to a portion of it’s former size, and this ends the comic.
At first glance, it is quite a surreal piece. This comic seems to lack a distinct punchline, which is typically an absolute staple for three panel comics. This is very odd behavior for Jim Davis, and one might ponder “What was he thinking with this one?” Researching the date of this comic, this comic fell on a Wednesday, so it wasn’t the fault of the Mondays. So could it be possible that we have actually found an example of a weaker comic when compared to others? Is it even possible for this brilliant man to create a weak comic? Well, the answer is no. This comic is actually it is one of his strongest, and really shows the length that Jim Davis is willing to go to experiment and entertain us. I’ll explain below the break.
Is this an auditory illusion. are the words actually being said or is the brain making it up altogether
