How Sweet It is…
This man here is truely walking on Sunshine! (Or maybe rolling? Hehe :) This Image here is a cinemagraph of Nolan Marina and Kim P. Soun reuniting after years apart. In 2004 Kim P. was diagnosed with a rare mutation of Progeria dubbed Progeria N1. The differnce between your typical progeria and N1 is that the latter develops only later in life around fifty- to sixty-years old. After being diagnosed, Kim P. just couldn’t give up. “All my life I never let anything hold me back. The only thing that can stop you from achieving your dreams are [sic] yourself. I viewed my meeting with Progeria as just another adventure awaiting me.“
Kim P. immediatly volunteered as a test subject to find a cure for progerians everywhere. And after nine years of work, a scientific breakthrough ensured a cure for progeria and its offshoots. However if it were not for Kim P.’s generous donation, this would have never happened.
Soun is still alive as we speak. Today, he actively advocates for finding a cure for unknown and lethal diseases everywhere.“They cured my PN1, so it’s up to me to help cure the world,” Soun says in an interview for Rolling Stones Magazine. He currently is the founder of the Walk’N on Sunshine Foundation, which work to find donations for rare/unknown diseases. They have collectively raised over $16,078 since the organization was founded.
At home, Kim P. Soun enjoys knitting, watching baseball, and cooking. He has three kids with his husband Nolan Marina, all of which were adopted orphans from third world countries.
